Do I have to be a member to try LLD?

How do I become a member?
Simply click on Log-in / Sign-up, fill out the registration form, review and agree to the release form. You will then be contacted by LLD once they review your application. To become a member of LLD you will need to pay the annual membership fee and then you can begin scheduling babysitters immediately from LLD via email or call.
How do I initiate services with LLD?

Can I get to know a sitter before booking her?
Absolutely! We arrange phone interviews, in-person interviews and meet & greets between the sitter and the family to ensure she’s a great fit.
Is there an hour minimum for each appointment?
No. There is not a minimum appointment duration, but we encourage the appointment to make sense with the sitters traveling time.
How do I pay my sitter if the babysitting appointment ends of the half hour?
You would pay the sitter half of the hourly amount specified in your appointment confirmation email.
Where is LLD available?
While we anticipate expanding into other cities soon, LLD is currently available in NYC, Brooklyn, Long Island, The Hamptons, Brooklyn, Westchester, Connecticut, New Jersey, Philadelphia and the greater Los Angeles area. For specific areas please contact info@luckylildarlings.com
How do I pay for the services?
For sitting requests, members are charged a small booking fee 24 hours following their appointment and pay the sitters directly in cash or check the balance of the amount owed upon completion of services. All booking charges are INCLUDED in the rates posted on our website. For playgroups, nanny placement, housesitting and other services, payments are handled directly between the member and Lindsay Bell.
Can I schedule a babysitting appointment directly with the sitter?
No. You must schedule directly with LLD. You may only confirm a scheduled location, date and/or time with a sitter.
Is it possible to work with the same sitter on a consistent basis?
Absolutely! If you and your children have connected with an LLD sitter, we will work to regularly place her with your family. When requesting an appointment, be sure to indicate your sitter preference. If your requested sitter is unavailable, we will do our best to ensure another sitter can cover the appointment.Please note: Even with placement of regular sitters, families must still contact LLD for all appointments.
Are all LLD sitters CPR trained?
Yes all LLD sitters have been trained in CPR and Fire Safety through FDNY or through an outside certification course. LLD provides bi-annual training to constantly educate our sitters on the latest childcare methods.
Can LLD provide sitters for vacations/travel, overnights, and/or weekend trips?
Yes. LLD can provide sitters for vacations, overnights and/or weekends. You can find overnight and weekend rates under the Services tab. For vacation rates please email lindsay.bell@luckylildarlings.com
How do I cancel or reschedule my sitter?
To cancel or reschedule please email your sitter and lindsay.bell@luckylildarlings.com as soon as possible. Please note that cancelations or reschedules done within a 24-hour period of the start of services are subject to a $50 fee (except in the event of extreme weather where both the sitter and family decide to mutually cancel)
Am I expected to reimburse my sitter for transportation?
If your sitter stays later than 9:00 PM, and uses a taxi cab for transportation, families are expected to pay for cab fare up to $20. The sitter will communicate her estimated cab fare to you. Otherwise, gas compensation is always appreciated for sitters who drive to their appointment.
Am I expected to reimburse my sitter for meals?
While it is not required for you to reimburse sitters for evening meals, it is always welcomed and appreciated. On vacation/travel and/or weekend appointments, families will cover the cost for all meals.
If I am looking for a sitter for a single event do I need to pay the annual membership fee?

I am from out of town and only need a sitter for a few evenings at our hotel while we are visiting. Do I need to pay the annual membership fee?

Can I interview the sitters myself before hiring one for consistent babysitting?
Yes; finding a great sitter to family match is very important to LLD. You are welcome to conduct a no cost phone or in person interview (under 60 minutes) or a paid ‘meet and greet’ before any placement is made.
How and when do I pay LLD?
Our annual membership fee is payable in check or via credit card and due upon registration. Please contact lindsay.bell@luckylildarlings.com to find out the applicable membership fee in your area. For babysitting and other services, LLD will automatically charge your credit card on file a small booking fee 24 hours following each appointment. Note this booking fee is INCLUDED in the rates posted on our website. We then will send you an invoice outlining the amount owed directly to the sitter in cash or check upon completion of services. Note your credit card will not otherwise be charged without your express consent.
If I have a last minute, day-of-request, but find my own sitter before LLD confirms, will I still be charged for a cancellation?
No. We understand that emergencies come up. In this circumstance, you will not be charged based on the 24-hour cancellation policy.
